Kirkland is a moderate gun dog with loads of style and is transitioning to adult competition stakes. Kirkland is sired by the legendary American Brittany Club Hall of Fame and Field Trial Hall of Fame inductee and 3x National All Age Champion Runer-up - 3xNFC-RU FC AFC Hi-Scor Jac D Ruffian HOF who remains one of the great all age contenders of all time - even after 30 years.  He won the 1993 American Brittany Club National Futurity Runoff, he took home first place at the Southern Open Brittany Championship 4 times, and was National Open All Age Championship Runner Up Champion in 1995, 1997, and 1998 and held the 4th place National Open All Age Championship title in 1994.  Other major championship wins include the 1992 American Brittany Invitational Classic, 1996 Blackwater Brittany Classic, and the inaugural Deep South Brittany Free For All Championship in 2000.  Throughout his career, he bosted 11 hour wins, 5x American Field Championships, 3x American Field Championship Runner-Ups, and 42 first placements of 104 career placements.   FC AFC Hi-Scor Jac D Ruffian HOF is sired by Hall of Famer and 1986 National Open All Age Champion NFC DC AFC Marker's Jac's A Dan D.  

Kirkland's mother is Carter Brittany Kennel's NGDC-RU FC AFC Emma Tayshon, who is an exciting shooting dog to watch on the ground and is snappy, animated, and forward moving with a ton of drive and stamina. She is the 2018 AKC All Pointing Breed National Gun Dog Championship Best of Breed winner, the 2017 AKC American Brittany Club National Gun Dog Championship Runner-Up and the National Perpetuator's Misty Skye Awardee for being the overall highest placing female of the 2017 National Open and Amateur Gun Dog Championships.  She proudly carries her AKC Field Champion Title (FC) as well as her AKC Amateur Field Champion title (AFC) with multiple hour and championship placements against the nation's top dogs.  At the 2013 National Gun Dog Championship FC AFC Emma Tayshon brought home the Judge's Award Of Merit and in 2014 she placed 3rd in the National Gun Dog Championship and was the highest ranking female at the 2014 National Open Gun Dog Championship.  NGDC-RU FC AFC Emma Tayshon is sired by Brittany legend 2005 National All Age Champion, 2004 and 2006 National Amateur All Age Champion and Hall of Fame inductee NFC 2xNAFC FC AFC Just Call Me Roy HOF who has more National All Age wins and placements than any dog in the history of the breed with a total of seven - 3 total wins (2004 NAFC, 2005 NFC, 2005 NAFC), 1 Runner-Up (2003 NFC), 1 third placement (2006 NFC), and 2 fourth placements (2004 NFC, 2007 NAFC).
